Ultra-Bore

Description

Ultra-Bore is an ultra high yield, 200-mesh sodium bentonite drilling fluid. It is specially formulated to optimise hole cleaning and maintain borehole integrity in horizontal and high angle drilling applications. When Ultra-Bore is mixed in fresh water it develops an exceptional drilling fluid and lubricant for all types of fresh water mud rotary drilling and pipe jacking applications.

Functions

Improves borehole stability in unstable/poorly cemented formations such as sand and gravel. Builds a tight thin filter cake and helps stabilise water sensitive clay and shale. Builds high stable gel strength and generates high low end rheological properties for optimum hole clearning in vertical, horizontal and high angle boreholes.

Advantages

Concentrated for ultra high yield - reduced product usage. Easy to use and mixed quickly. Non-toxic, stable and non-fermenting. Exceptional rheological properties and fluid loss control minimise the risk of fluid loss. Tolerant of a reasonable level of hardness and low pH.

Packaging

Ultra-Bore is packaged in 25kg plastic bags (40x25kg bags per shrink wrapped pallet) or in shrink wrapped tonne bags.

Pure-Bore

Description

Pure-Bore is a natural biodegradable drilling fluid, which can be used in a variety of drilling applications. Produced from dry free flowing polymers, Pure-Bore provides exceptional bore hole stability and cuttings removal in a wide range of ground conditions.

  • Effective in all ground conditions (one sack drilling fluid).
  • High viscosity for efficient hole cleaning.
  • High Yield Point and Gel Strength for maximum cuttings suspension and transport.
  • Provides exceptional bore hole stability in unconsolidated formations.
  • Provides clay and shale inhibition.

  • Can be cleaned down through regular de-sanders.

  • 3 kilos of Pure-Bore. provides the same viscosity as 60 kilos of civil engineering grade bentonite or 25 kilos of high yield bentonite.
  • Naturally biodegrades.
  • Can be chemically destroyed with calcium hypochlorite.
  • Low cost slurry disposal. Destroy or biodegrade the Pure-Bore polymer to settle out drilled cuttings in a settlement pit.
  • The fluid phase can then be treated at a sewage treatment works leaving semi-dry cuttings.

Pure-Bore is packed in 5kg plastic bags (5 x 5kg bags per cardboard case).

Liquimud Plus

Description

Liquimud Plus is a liquid copolymer designed to provide fast and easy drilling fluid viscosity and clay/shale inhibition.

Recommended Use

Liquimud Plus can be used to inhibit clay and shale, as well as an additive in bentonite drilling fluids to increase viscosity and lower fluid loss. It may also be used with Pure Bentonite Granules to make a high solids grout.

Clear-Foam XL

Description

Clear Foam XLTM is an ultra high-yielding, biodegradable, liquid foaming agent for use in dry air rotary drilling or mixed with fresh or salt water for foam rotary drilling.

Function

  • Mixes easily in fresh or salt water
  • Provide a technique for drilling in environmentally sensitive areas
  • Improves the hole-cleaning capability of the air stream and enhance the rate of cuttings removal
  • Reduces hydrostatic pressure and increases the lifting of large volumes of water
  • Counteracts the sticking tendencies of wet clays, thereby eliminating mud rings and wall packing
  • Reduces the erosion of poorly consolidated formations
  • Provides a technique for drilling in zones with lost circulation
  • Increases borehole stability
  • Lubricates and cools the bit, improving penetration rate
  • Reduces the air-volume requirement

Drill-Sorb

Description

Drill-Sorb is a granular advanced super-absorbent material that rapidly absorbs and retains large volumes of water from aqueous solutions. Drill-SorbTM can absorb 200 times it weight.

Recommended Use

Drill-Sorb is a very effective drilling fluid solidifier (adsorbing the water phase of the drilling fluid) and ideally suited for lost circulation control in highly fractured zones and permeable and porous formations.

Characteristics

  • Excellent at sealing sand, gravel and fractured rock.
  • Capable of absorbing 200 times its own weight in water.
  • Converts drilling fluid into disposable solid by absorbing water.

Well-Clear

Description

A granular product, Well-Clear, is a specially formulated mineral scale remover. Upon dissolution in water, Well-Clear penetrates mineral encrustations converting them into soluble salts which are easily pumped to waste.

Recommended Use

Well-Clear cleans casings, screens, gravel packs and water-bearing formations of deposits consisting of mineral scale. Calcium carbonate, iron, and manganese are the most common causes of mineral scale.

Characteristics

Will not emit fumes in dry form and will not irritate the skin. It is safer to handle than hydrochloric or muriatic acid upon dissolution in water, Well-ClearTM penetrates mineral encrustations, converting them to soluble salts which are easily pumped to waste much less corrosive on well materials (screen, pumps) than traditional chemicals such as hydrochloric acid

Floc-Block (Anionic)

Description

Floc-Block is a solid block of high molecular weight anionic flocculant which be used in a variety of slurry treatment applications.

Functions

Effective on the majority of drilled solids.

Benefits

  • Easy to use.
  • Fast and efficient dispersion in fresh and salt water.
  • Low cost slurry treatment.
  • Does not require specialist plant or operation.

Recommended Use

Place Floc-Block in a string bag and suspend in the flow line prior to the settlement tank so that the slurry water flowing over the Floc-Block picks up the flocculent.

If necessary (depending on the particle charge in the slurry water) use in conjunction with cationic Floc-Block. In this situation separate the Floc-Blocks within the flow line so that the slurry water picks up either the cationic or anionic polymer first (switch them over as required to get the best results).

Packaging

Floc-Blocks are packaged in cardboard boxes in 5kg clear plastic bas which disintegrate in water.

Floc-Block (Cationic)

Description

Soda Ash

Description

Soda ash is the common name for sodium carbonate, which separates calcium into sodium and carbonate ions in solutions.

Recommended Use

Soda ash is used to raise the PH of make-up water for bentonite and water based drilling fluids by precipitating the soluble calcium.

  • Econmomical method for increasing pH.
  • Safe and easy to use.
  • Maximises yield of drilling fluid.

Sodium Bicarbonate

Description

Sodium Bicarbonate is the common name for sodium hydrogen carbonate which separates calcium into sodium and bicarbonate ions in solutions.

Recommended Use

Sodium Bicarbonate is used to control cement contamination by precipitating the soluble calcium and reducing the pH.

  • Maximises yield of drilling fluid.

Calcium Hypochlorite

Description

Calcium Hypochlorite is concentrated chlorine and commonly used to kill bacteria eg. in swimming pools.

Recommended Use

Add carefully to the waste Pure-Bore drilling fluid to chemically destroy the Pure-Bore polymer and aid waste drilling fluid disposal.

Packaging

Citric Acid, Anhydrous

Description

Citric acid is a concentrated natural acid.

Recommended Use

Add carefully to the drilling fluid to help reduce and control the pH.

Characteristics

  • Economical method for reducing the pH of the drilling fluid.
  • Easy to use.
  • Maximises yield of drilling fluid.

Packaging
